View Full Version : Warhammer warrior
Hi. My name is Joon Lee. Several months ago, I was inspired by Illustrations of Warhammer and had to model something. So finally I did it. Well, next stage will be texturing this guy, until then this is what I got. Enjoy, and don't forget to kick ass!!! :buttrock:

Great start. Looks very remniscent of the Panzar Studio's work (dunno how similar their work is to the real warhammer art, though). On to the crits: you have some anatomy issues in the model. The arm muscles are sort of there, but aren't shaped right. The serratus muscles you have on the abdomen should either be defined more, or removed altogether. The way they are now, sort of in between, doesn't really do the model service. I like the facial region the best.
Would you mind telling us how much is Warhammer and how much is Panzar and how much is your own? :) I'm just kinda curious. I didn't know if there were any Warhammer figures that are identical to yours, but I know Panzar has this http://panzar.com/champion2.html warrior, and yours has some similar aspects.
Cool start! I'd love to see it finished.
Thank a lot guys! for your comment and critiques, as I go on, I'll definitely make some improvement on this model. About the warhammer question, Yes, this is mixture of lots of stuff out there. I saw this illustration of battle in some warhmmer gallery, it showed viking like guys on battle. My model is mostly based on that illustration. Unfortunately, I couldn't really figure out how they looked on their lower body part from the illustration, so I looked at Panzar( another one of my inspiration ) and spawn toys. So this model is a mixture of 3
different reference materials. Again, thanks a lot. Rock on :buttrock:

very nice! I love those kind of models, the armor is great, the face seems cool too (reminds me of a celebrity, but I can't figure out who...), but maybe there's a little problem with his ribs, they seem to stick out too much, and his chest is too large for his belly. (it's really noticeable here: http://www.darkpolygon.com/wwglo07.htm)
also, some of his back muscles seem very very flattened, and his spine is marked too neatly imo (sharp crease).
also, as DoctorStopMo mentioned, some muscles don't have quite a convincing shape (maybe you don't mean to make the model too realistic, and prefer to have it more cartoonish-figurine style), for instance, the pecs seem far too round/smooth for their volume.
keep up the good work!
