Hello im just learning photoshop to be used in cunjunction with 3d textures etc.
I wonder if there is any way to paint parts of another image and have that mix all together and form another image. Any help or liks to tutorials concerning this would be much appreciated.

Not sure I understood what you want, but you can use layer masks to blend different files toghether, in fact there are plenty of techniques that you can use to accomplish that.

Take a look at the Tutorials Sticky post (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?t=129189) here at CGTalk, and try Google (http://www.google.com/search?q=photoshop+mask+tutorials) for more.

Hope this helps in some way.

there are plenty of techniques used to combine/mix up images. most of them (i would say all of them) are based on so called "layering". you use photoshop layers' blending modes, and set them to receive a certain effect.

A principials...

- darken, lighten blending modes - explanation is sufficient
- xlight (softlight, hardlight, vivid light) - for the light management

You should cut a part, or paste a full image on the first one you want to mix that with. Using brushes you always have to mend the final effect. the limits are only in your mind since using photoshop you are free to do whatever you want. using such a simple techniques you may receive outstanding effects.

Try it yourself... Nowhere the better tutor than practice.
