Goul- awesome water ambiance. nice painting on the shark.
Salamander Coral - awesome idea, awesome execution.
augustus - the bloody hand has a nice feel, but the water seems really happy and calm. provides a nice contrast.
You know, I realized that WWII helmets and guns have infinite uses in these competitions.

I'm so freaky tired and I got no brain at the moment! I wanted to get involved with this sketch, but.. I'm way too tired. >_< No ideas.. no originality, nothing. *sighs* I'm bounced to lose anyways cuz SalamanderCoral has the best idea!!! I really looooove it!
.... Not that I want to win the contest... as it's not a contest, but it's just that I want to improvise myself. Know what I'm saying? :)
To everybody else: Keep it up! ;)

Holly shoot salamader, that's outrageously funny!! !!!
I don't have the time to do one so I submit exhibit A, a shark I did for a long gone daily sketch.
And in the imortal words of Police Chief Martin Brody in Jaws..."we need a bigger boat"
09-26-2004, 10:58 AM
SalamanderCoral --> As you've heard, your pic is amazing!!!
Steve V --> Really like the lines on your pic...

great entries today,
malcolmvexxed, I think that the deadline is when Roberto posts the next topic (24h more or less), but there are not much rules here, you can post whenever you want, even if the next topic has been already posted.

meta_Nerd: Your's first one just killed me! The sawblade edges of the tooth makes a nice detail I'd probably never think of. NICE!
SalamanderCoral: amazing one! I'm still rolling on the floor. Which part is made in Painter and which in Phsp if I my ask?
taron333: I love the style...and the jaWWWWs :)
Salamander Coral > Lol ...Great work , nothing to crits for me :D
Meta_nerd> :D I love the first one ,good idea !
SteveV> Nice sketch , but the amount of bublles disturb me a bit
09-26-2004, 05:49 PM
Thank you very much, Lopoly.
Which part is made in Painter and which in Phsp if I my ask? Of course you may ask: I blocked out the basic colours in photoshop, then switched to painter and blended them. at last i used ps to add details like highlights (e.g. on the water surface), shadows and the bubbles... actually you could do everything in painter, but i prefer to do the subtle work in ps. photoshop gives me the feeling, that i have more control over the details and the overall impression and i like the smooth handling of it's default brushes...:)
with kind regards

I've been meaning to get back into drawing, haven't really done any since last year (mostly 3d bologne) anywho, just thought I'd jump on this boat.
here's my image
also just wanted to say that alot of the images I've seen come out of these have been pretty amazing, props to all who have one thus far, I hope one day I will be able to achieve the same feats
09-27-2004, 12:53 AM
Wacom / painter 8 / 5 minutes for sketch and 10 minutes for paint.
Hi fellow , great work, funny idea , and amazing drawing speed :eek :applause:
09-27-2004, 03:38 AM
Ok, it's more of a bird, but I was thinking of those shark mouths painted on the WWII fighters and well that made me want to do a non-aquatic shark attack. I hope that's cool
09-27-2004, 05:14 AM
I decided I wanted to mess with this one in a different way so I did another version. I left the "fin" near the back of the cockpit so that it would still be shark like. I saw that multiple posts were allowed so I hope this is ok.
1 Hour/ Photoshop/Wacom
09-27-2004, 05:16 AM
So the sketch started out to be of sharks, but they kind of ended up looking like zombified fish...
This was intended to be my first post to CGTalk, so I figured I'd just go ahead and still post it anyways...
Ooops, sorry, almost forgot:
Pencil, Wacom, Photoshop
about 35 min.
09-27-2004, 06:45 AM
2.5 h, pencil & paper, wacom, painter and ps
Germans are sick ;) hehe
nice one :D
09-27-2004, 04:10 PM
sharks are amazing arnt they, i did another drawing (not this one) of a great white with the mouth open, i might go back to that in a minute, i think there needs to be more shading under the sharks fin here on the water.
80 minutes, 2B pencil
5 minutes photoshop
09-27-2004, 04:56 PM
20-25 minutes photoshop....
09-28-2004, 01:02 AM
About an hour Wacom/Painter some reference
Finally got some time for this one. I was going for a dramatic fight with the diver letting the shark have it with the spear gun, only question is does the other one go for the diver or the shark next :D Let me know what you think wasn't sure how many bubbles a spear guns lets off, if any? Or if it's too dark?
Brötje - really nice style & great expression
el paso - looks cool, needs more teeth maybe ;)
Taron333 - I like the thick & thin brush strokes, nice change of style
SalamanderCoral - haha great
augustus - I like the softness of colour on this one
