ICO creators make Wanda and the Collosus.

ICO is one of my few favourite PS2 games. I felt it transcended both genre and form.

This trailer was a bit too short to make any concrete judgement, but the battles look genuinely unique enough to hold my interest for now.

Wow! Looks amazing! I was a bit shocked to see how violent it was though! After seeing that pic, i kinda thought that the giant was friendly and she teams up with it or something, but noooo - eeeek - bloood! Looks like a really original concept, climbing up huge giants and whacking em.
ICO was one of my fave ps2 games and one of the most beautiful and original games ever. One of the greatest endings ever too!
Nice to see theyve still got that great hazy, sunny look to it.

there were talks that the ico team was working on a new game for some time, i'm glad to see it's true.
i'm betting it will be just as amazing as ico. looks great!

i must be the only one who found ICO incredibly boring and repetitive. This looks more of the same. Can you say they got inspired from Legolas attacking the elephants.

cool. a slightly new look comparing to ICO would have been even cooler, but this looks cool too. love the way they dont let you know whats going on and you have to explore for yourself.

ICO is one of the most beautiful and artistic games ever made in game history. I sure hope in this new one they will keep that dynamic of boy and girl, because that was one of the most beautiful things about ICO.

The main character in Wanda and the Colossus is a boy who travels on a horse, carrying the soulless body of a little girl day and night until he reaches a shrine surrounded by vast wilderness. As the boy lays the dearly beloved girl's body at the shrine, lighting suddenly strikes, and the boy hears voices from the heavens that tells him that he can bring back the girl's soul if he defeats all the giant statues in the land without regard for his own life. There is no one in the vast desolated land except for the boy, his horse, and the godlike moving statues that appear in front of them as more lightning strikes the land. Bound together with their love for the little girl, the boy and his horse go to fight against the colossal stone beings without any hesitation.

During the actual game, you'll take the role of the boy, fighting against the huge ancient stone beings that were sealed off in the land. Aside from the human looking Golem shown on the official website, there are various types of other colossal stone beings, such as those that can fly, or swim in the water. Your basic strategy in the game is to use the R1 button to grasp onto the Colossus and to climb up on them until you find their weak spot to attack and defeat it. You'll have to use various strategies in order to reach the weak points for some of the Colossus, such as hitting them on a certain location of their body so that they'll change their posture into something that's climbable.

Ico is still my #1 videogame EVER :love: I was kinda hoping they kept the sequal for
PS3 or something, but this game looks very promising on PS2 indeed. I also might wanna
buy one of those new supersmall new PStwo consoles with Wanda.

It's great to see that a dev guy like Fumito Ueda can pull off such gracefully crisp visuals
on relatively limited hardware, when compared to the latest & greatest Ghz' s and 6800's/X800's.

I can say they weren't. The first images released of this game were for a hiring campaing when they were looking for some artists/programmers for the game well before RoTK was well known about content-wise, and it featured the same dude on a horse next to a huge hairy beast. The character looked a bit different but it was obvious the idea was what it is now.

Can't wait for this one, it even has flying serpents to climb on!

I just saw the trailer and OH MY GOD. I had already seen the pics at IGN but still. I'm looking forward to this game so much. It's a shame how poorly ICO sold considering what an amazing game (or should I say "experience") it was.
