nice images but maybe you should post it in the "Finished Work: 2D, Illustrations and Concept Art (http://www.cgtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=133)" section of cgtalk =)

OOOooo very nice, me likes! :D

Cool "exclusion/lighten" effect on the second version, but i too prefer the gory redish effect of the first one.

Good stuff!

I like it but the shadow/monster looks too fake. If one can see the individual leaves on right sillouete of the trees then i think u would be able to see more detail on his cape. Atm it (the sillouete) looks too smoothed,

rebo i disagree a little with your observation. :)

Those leaves look to be a lot closer to the camera than the person, in which case it's a matter of DOF.

Besides... putting the main subject here slightly out of focus helps add to the mystique of the image/story. I think it's quite appropriate.

Great lighting effects, I like both... but prefer the red one. The post and fern like plant silhouette's are a great idea, but I don't think they quite work. I'd be considering a few alternative shapes, because atm they stand out... not because they are silhouette's but because they are strong shapes which aren't repeated anywhere else in the picture. The post/stump looks like it could be manmade and the fern leaves I can't see in any of the other foliage. I hope that helps. Great textures and mood overall.

Nice Work!

The second one gives me the impression of a brushed metal plate, pretty neat.

The red's better cause o' the light effects. More visible than in the grey.
