In LW make a copy of ur scene and objects animated in it and make that dummy object 100 percent luminous. Devise the scene such that only the animated object is seen pure white...Get a render of your animation and throw it into AEffects. Put it as a layer on top of your original animation and set the transfer mode to screen. Go into effects for that layer, go into time and add echo. Give it some dissolve. And after that put in some gaussian blur to smooth out the trail... You're done!! :)

Pure Lightwave : use an object with the shape of the glow, parent it to your object, use lazypoints
