View Full Version : Vechile: BMW Z8!
My first 'photoreal' car.
Done in LightWave 7.5 and Photoshop 7 on a laptop running Mac OS X.
Build time: one week. Modelled about 6h a day, meaning lots of hours in front of computer.
References used: Blueprints & tons of photos. Also some very handy text material used.
What the model was done for: Well, just for fun.
Ratings & comments are welcome. Also note that the model is not locked as it is. Alterations & tweakings can be made if neccessary.

More renders coming. Also a photo composite under work. Maybe a backrender coming later today.

The overall brightness got too high & the shadows are barely visible, but posted it anyway.
yes thanks but they still looks pretty dark......I cant see the profile(don't know for sure this is how to name it).
And how is the driver supposed to open the door??

I like your BWM Z8.
In general it has a very good look.
But it seems it has some problem en the mesh around
the highlights.
I can't see the work on the wheels. The tyre is too black.
If you look a real wheel, his tyre isn't completly black.
And I think that a bit less purple would be better.
It's my opion. :scream:
Good work! :buttrock: :buttrock:
More renders coming. Still gotta make the real image out of this.
Here is one very big render. Hope you all like it.

damn, when i saw the first picture in this thread i wasnt sure what looked off, then i saw the last pic and i realized the model kicks ass and the problem was the earlier render's lighting and color. really nice model!!the only things that could use work is the glowing front grill trim, as well as the same problem with the vent on the side of the front wheel well. awesome stuff though, beautiful work!!!
Indeed, the 'glowing' parts are very reflective chrome. They do look like glowing.
I think you need to round off the edges of the tires and make the tread shallower. Also the sides of your signals (and also the signals themselves) kinda look weird. (it kinda sinks into the body at the ends and i think it needs to come out more, right now it doesn't look round)
