This image was sent to me by my father. He love spreading stupid e-mail spoofs and jokes. This on I can't figure out. I've heard it's real but I think with enough time, and some referance photos I could create this image.

What do you think? fake or real?

if it's fake what was the hardest part?

if it's real, Do you think t his would be a good challange for the challanges fourum? to recreate this image..

I'd love to work on this.

It be straight Photoshop. A good job was done at it too. ( Layers are fun! )

One way to spot the fake, is the refuel nozzle in the front of the chopper. It should be on the other side.

Now that isnt even hard to do in photoshop.

Stills are always pretty easy, an hour or two id say.
Its not print sized or anything so noones gonna notice anything since they never really get it at any high resolution.

If you have a keen observation about your surrounding and how things look you can spot those fakes easily.

1. The shark doesn't look convincing 'coz it lacked the water splashes and foams.

2. Everything will be more convincing if the sky was more bluish/darker in tone 'coz you'll notice that the water is supposedly reflecting a darker toned sky. Even the chopper will look good over it.

3. The moutain immediately behind the fake bridge is obviously a cutout.

Overall, I like looking at this pic--amusing!

Hahaha! (There's my laugh!)

Yes I agree with wireFrame's point about observation.

The shark. Well I have seen 2 photo's (taken at the Farrallon Islands - just off shore from SF bay) of sharks doing that. Very rare. These photo's could have been used for making a fake.

As for the water. That pic is set just west of the Golden Gate. Now the water there is grey to blue grey most of the time. Also the currents going under the bridge move at close to 4.5 knots on the outgoing tide. Makes the water very non-reflective because off all the crap coming out of SF Bay.

As for the "mountain" - well that is the down slope side of Golden gate park. So I know it wasn't pasted in. I've sailed past it enough times to know what it looks like. Also that was a fairly calm day or right at slack tide when that was taken. Otherwise it would be choppy as all hell right there.

Bottom line. I think what you have is a pic of a marine helicopter recovering people just outside of SF bay. The shark was added for color. By the looks of it a good job too.

My 2 cents.
