Hi Friends,

last night I've finished my Dodge Challenger. It wasn't very easy for me to model this car coz there are not very much pictures online. But I think for non challenger freaks the car looks ok ;)

I used spinning spot lights with raytraced shadows, for lights.
Oh and Yes, the car is made in Lightwave 7.5.

Looks really good - but it's no Viper though ;)
They aired the movie Vanishing Point on Danish TV a few days ago. Viggo Mortensen drove around in a Dodge Challenger :)

this is probably a newbie question, but what do you mean whn you say spinning lights?

Lights setup in a circle around the object?

Great work.

Like the paint job!

"The Spinning light trick"
Works on every 3d program with motion blur.

There are much pages online where they show how it works.
Ok, you just make two or three spot lights. Move them a litle bit high and arround your object. Set the light target to you object (or just a null object).

Then parent all your spot lights to one null, call it light group...

Now go to frame 1 and turn the light group 720" on the pitch axis.

now the lastz step, turn on "Motion Blur" with 50% on render the frame 1.

For more info search for "Spinning light trick".

Hey I think in general the modelling of the car is pretty good. I think you should go in and model the lights too. They would catch speculars after that and would be more real. Right now they give the car a fake look. Try to add more scratch bumps and reflections to the car to make it more belivable if your going for that. And a enverimental line of reflections in the windows is a must. Good work for now, keep it up!!

Hi,

yes the tail and side lights are only fake, the headlight don't have a bump map so far. The surface need some more work to.

But I did'nt made the car to make a 1:1 copie from the org. That wasn't possible with the images I got from the internet.

We could it call a practise object

I will post a dirty version later...hehe with scratches and dirt

oki...Cya.
