View Full Version : lost mental ray attributes in Att Ed?
johnnynightlife 09-22-2004, 10:36 PM just today i opend a scene ive been workign on, and i noticed that i lost the mental ray tab for any shader in the atribute editor, default renderer is still MR, i still have all my custom shaders in Create Render Node, but the entire section, or tab, of mental ray is gone.
I need to turn down the irradiance valuse, and tweek some other attributes. has anyone had this problem? or did i change my settings somehow?

very odd,
now every scene i have ever made when i go to render region or plain render, comes up with this error
error 361053: no photons stored after emitting 1000000 photons (canceling emission job)
ive had this problem when the light is behind something, or outside of the geometry, but ive learned how to overcome it, now it happens in every scene, that was previously ok?

How about the mentalray globals? Are they there?
sometimes when importing stuff into a scene causes a clash with mentalray nodes
and one has to delete the miDefaultOptions, save the scene and reopen it to fix it

yes,the mental ray globals are all there, should i try doing what you said? Are the MI default options in the MR filder under Include? I didnt see any "options" just the MI files. So i deleted all the MI files, restarted, and reinstalled. That didn't work tho.

sometimes it helps with weird mental ray ui problems. It never hurts to try though.
Just save the scene first

oh yes,
just type delete miDefaultOptions on command line
you dont need to delete any mi files

i tried that too, but no luck. I ended up reinstalling to make everything ok
