Hi !

I've noticed that some people say that the preset Production Quality from the render globals isn't enough to obtain a quality render. So my question is (for Maya Software Render) what other parameters have to be adjusted to achive a true quality render (of course that this question implies that the proper light setup and good textures were already been created).

Thanks. (you could post a printscreen with your settings - just for a short talk and not to much explenations) :)

the production quality preset is involved primarily with the antialiasing of ur rendered image. u need to set other options like raytracing to achieve more realistic reflections and refractions.

u need to set the Nurbs tesselation in the rendering menu as well to produce nice clean renders of ur nurbs objects.

these are just two examples that can affect ur final render quite a bit. my experience tells me that setting the render options to produce the best quality output depends on 1)ur scene and 2) how much ur willing to render and rerender to get a beautiful render
