View Full Version : where can I learn Inferno??
Renzo Signori Pastorelli 09-21-2004, 10:33 PM Hello I am new to this and this is my first post. I have been studiing Maya at NYU s CADA and now I am interested in getting into Compositing. I have heard a lot about Inferno and I would like to learn it but there is no course in NYU and I cant seem to find any classes on the web. I am looking for something that lasts for a few months and where they let you use the computers to practice and make your demo, since i dont have a SG. I would really appreciate it if someone knows of a school and replies to this post! I am willing and able to give advice on Maya and Cinema 4D.

Hey mate how are ya,
If you want to learn Inferno your best bet is to start with FLAME.
Discreet has many training facilities worldwide but they cost a packet. I would recommend searching out a good film school like AFTRS (in Australia) or your local country Film FX facility. Even if you have to travel cities, it's a great opportunity to put a shiny FLAME sticker on your resume. Courses at AFTRS the biggest film school in Australia runs Flame courses for 2 people 4 times each year at AUD $ 2000 for the week. This is expensive, but the class includes 2 students and instructor and $500,000 machine each.
Inferno classes are harder and more expensive to find, but the programs flame / inferno are very similar to each other in terms of LEARNING.
Processing is obviously faster on INFERNO , but Flame is the place to start for Compositing TV commercials and Film special effects.

thanks for your advice! I will keep in mind the Australian film school, although at the time I cant go all the way there.
finding this training is a lot harder than I thought but I wont give up. I think so too about the nice Flame thing in the resumme.
thanks again and maybe we ll talk again
