heheh! that's a nice little car you got there...
nice paint job, I think there's too much specular on tire tho,
that's the only thing I see.
We've been seeing lots of cars on the forum lately,
and most of the cars i've seen are great,
including this one.... :D

nice work

thanks guys for the feedback, the car is done in 3DStudioMax 3.0, started from a cage of splines (few splines just for the basic shape ) then surface(step 0) and then edit mesh and mesh smooth.
the wire modell (before mesh smooth) :

I also made a large tutorial : http://www.raz.ro/tutorials/lotus/lotus1.htm

Daniel I know my car isn't 100% like Elise but I didn't like the headlights and some other things of the original Elise and I give it a personal touch I think...

And by the way...was it necessary to post on this topic 6 large images !? :( Mabe you could made your point by posting one image and I don't know...5 links...I'm on a 56k modem and this page now loads very hard...If you notice I only posted one image here...

Bravo Sir! Nice lotus. I like powerful cars, yet for some reason I always am a sucker for a lotus. Hehe.

Looks really nice,, I like the new ideas for it,, and paint looks really nice. But for some reason the windshield this just too larg in my eyes,,, I think it were pulled down a little bit and it might just be that the hood is too low,, just a little bit,, with these 2 small adjustments I think design wise it would look real cool. Nice job,, I can never get them edit-mesh stuff down... I always just run back to Rhino,,, hehehe,,, Your tut is nice,, so maybe I'll give it a try agian.

Hey the elise looks great.
Have a look for some more reference if you're able, the headlights at the moment look a bit more like an S2000 to me than the elise. The elise mk1 is has much rounder headlights. The housing of the lights also have a little sleave, they are not melted into the surface.
In the profile view the line of the body into the wheel arch is not sharp enough to my viewing of it.
Also the front of the car in the center as id sweeps down over the bonnet does not seem to come down low enough. The lights and the indicators roll off and into the center more so than your does, also the front indicators have a little round housing. (Unless your thinking more of the sport 190)

loads of pics and some blue prints

blueprints for the mk2
http://www.suurland.com/blueprint_x.php?image=http://www.suurland.com/blueprints/cars_sports/mk2.gif

I've got some blueprints from the side and front that I found on the web but I can't locate them at the moment. If you want them let me know.

Nice job.

I wish I had time to model the elise mk1 as it's quite possible the sexiest car ever and a real joy to drive.
