View Full Version : Concept: All Terrain Scooter
jeroentje 08-10-2002, 10:20 PM Haven't been posting much in 2D artwork lately.
So I thought lets post this "in between thing". Just a concept sketch, for an All Terrain Scooter. Hope you like it. I am more in a concept mood then in a finishing mood. But I will finish my challenge this month ;)
Oh btw, this is my very first SciFi thing. I am most probably the only guy of all the 10,000 guys and 7 girls on cgtalk.com who never did a spaceship in his entire life :)
Cheers, jeroentje

Just a little update in the edit.
Think the driver needs a different chair if I want the thing to be able to hang upside down LOL

So he doesn't have to hang upsidedown himself... Good thinking!
Looks really cool thisfar, just one question: How does it move in soft terrains such as swamp? Does it hope it have "legs" long enough or does it have some thingy prevent sinking?
Keep us posted:bounce:

cool idea! I especially like the idea with the lights that look like the eyes of a spider, very "spiderish" :)

He , thanks guys
Swamps... ehm... good question. Maybe some sort of dish or some inflatable balloon inbetween those claws to prevent it from sinking?
I have seen spiders run over water. But they were just a couple of centimeters and weighted nothing... so that is not an option.

Very cool, looks like you could even enclose this thing and have it be a sea bottom walker. I like your concept. Your'e grabbing onto this Painter prog quickly.:)

He thanks Sleepless.
I had thought of that, but I liked the idea of totally freaked out motorscooter. And that idea is dead when I turn it into a closed cockpitt. But giving the driver some scuba equipment will probably do the trick LOL
The brushes in Painter are pretty cool. But I am screwing up my challenge with it at the moment... offcourse I am not making it easy on myself again (sigh...)
Hmm what about jetengines every leg it should keep it surface.

Nice concept jeroentje. I think you've done pretty well for your first one. I suck at machines, but I'm gonna practice. I wouldn't worry about making this thing capable of going everywhere, if you do you'll end of having something like batman who's got a gadget for everything and people watching and saying how would he have thought of that?!
Cheers,
(did that even make sense?)

Nice one. Maybe too much open space in it, but a hazy background would do the job.

Thanks guys, but I don't think I will change anything, allthough most of you made some good points.
This was just a oneandahalf hour inbetween to keep my motor running, and to try something I had never done before.
Thanks again and cheers to you all
