Hey really good! the only thing that bugs me is that some parts(hands, arms) are slightly textured and some others(like the armor) are heavily textured. Other than that, very good illustration!

I agree with DanVL. But it really is a fantastic picture, great atmosphere. :D

wow, i really like this piece.

reminds me of that evil guy from Voltron....'Lotor'. King Zarkon's son. i like the oil painted look you achieved. i also appreciate the way you didn't paint in all the details in the arms and hands. the head and chest being the points of interest and the rest is unfocused and rough. for the time you put into it, i think it's good.

post more.

I like it, I like how the attention is focused on the face area yet even though the rest of the painting is rougher it doesn't look unfinished.

Great painting! Love the mood and detail/lack of detail in certain areas. I gotta try this painter software. My only suggestion is to throw a little reflected light on him, just a touch.

Chain-Jane, I'm a huge fan of your work and I love this piece. The only thing bothering me is he looks cross-eyed. I don't know what it is, maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way.. Other than that another fantastic piece of art.

Awesome looking pic. Would have liked to see more background - but then again, you did say that this was more for character development. When I first looked at the pic (in thumbnail), I thought it was a drow, until I've seen the claws, and read your description. Did you get any inspiration from the Dark Elves of Forgotten Realms?

Other than that... I love the painting. I don't think I've ever seen purple armor that looked as good as this :D

Chain,
I love ur work very much too. very inspirational. especially the previous artworks which has got a stronger style of your own. The current painting looks very much like the typical HK comics which I can see here all the time. But u did it real good tho.
one thing that bugs me here is his eye. The right eye sorta looking at the left while the left eye aim to the audience (straight). Not sure whether u did that intentionally but i did saw the same treatment on HK comics all the time. Maybe u are just trying to emulate that.
:P

Anway, it's a great painting and I hope to see a little changes to the eye.
来点中文,眼神不定。至少可以改左眼。

The fading on the less important part of the painting is great. Just leave it like this.
其实我倒觉得再放松一点可能更好,但没法子吧,给钱的会闹。

Hope to see u start painting girls again. 近来马子少了吗?还是马子到手了反而烦挣钱去了?haha...
祝你生意兴隆。

Cheers.

A drow? Maybe?

Dark elf?

Anyway very cool image, very nice painting, he does still feel a bit cross eyed even with the changes. But still a great image.

hello,
good atmosphere and choice of the colors, reinforces
the metal contrasts about it to avoid too soft but it is a
good illustration.

WOW! thats one heck of a sword - glad I am not at the other end of it!

The figure and armour play off against one another very well. The armour is very nicely designed - great attention to detail. The figure is also well done - good facial expression, windswept hair, and oh yes - his rather 'orcish' looking hand (if I can use such an expression) adds a nice twist - helps to increase the images' uniquness.

Very 'Brom' style you have there. It first reminded me of his painting of the dark elf. I love the image, but the lighting doesn't seem right. Pardon my ignorance. I probably should say anything at all if I can't describe what it is exactly that bothers me. All in all, please post more. :scream:

very well done. i'm new here so don't take this the wrong way. the main highlights on the face and body armour seem to be quite vibrant as I think they should be, but i think there should also be a bright highlight on that sword as it would be made out of metal and would reflect brighter than the way it seems to be. keep up the good work.

Awesome work! I really love your concept art and paintings of your characters. I like the way your work is influenced by different styles and you turn them into something that is of your own. There's always a dreamy, soft feel to each of your character which i really admire. I am wondering if the work you post in cgtalk are available as concept designs put to use for 3d modelers like myself. I would really love to take one of your characters and put them into 3d, in respect to you.

Wow! It looks great.

Just two Crits: First I think the background looks a bit too plane... And I think the sword is way too big. Try to lift a sword of this size, made of Steel or something =). Even if you had creepy-looking werewolf-arms it wouldn't be possible =). But okay, it's fantasy...
