CGTalk - animation as image plane

is it possible to get an animation as an image plane? I can't load an avi file....only still images :/

I wanna put my 3d animation in a real environement, because of that I need the avi file in maya to fit the size of my models to the environement...:shrug:

Do you mean that you want to composite the animation background to the 3d animation you've made, "on the fly"? I'd say that's not a good idea at all, you should do that in post processing.

Though if you mean that you need the avi to more easily match the animation you've made, to the background, then it's ok and I allow you to do it ;)
I'm not sure where it was, but I remember bigfatMELon telling about some option you have to check/change in the image plane options, to get make the avi play with the rest of the scene.

pop " = frame " in the frame extnsn field to create an exprsn that ques the frames of the avi w the same timing as your scene's ?

I think you can do that with Maya Live.
You may find some informations about it in the Maya doc.
