Title: Kohan Art
Name: Thomas Woods
Country: United States
Software: Photoshop
This is a promotional peace I did for Kohan 2: Kings of War. I did one for each race (5 in all). I could tweak it forever but had to let it go at one point to move on to the others. Hope you enjoy.

Great!
I love the character, the balance of colour and style is great. I have to agree with the others i would like to see the rest of him but i think the composition you have at the moment is nice. Some great details. would just like to see it in a 3D form too. Would make a great war lord in a game or short.
Nice work

Dave, I did it from start to finish in PS, using a Wacom to draw with. I did a superfast rough in black and white and refined it to about 80% before adding any colors. It was at 400 dpi I think. If i can find the earlier stages I'll try to post them :)

Awesome work, man. I don't have any critiques, but I did want to say I helped out with the portrait contract for Kohan II while working with CLE, so it's really good to see someone do some quality paintings of the Drauga. Way to kick some ass, dude!

Amazing art!
love the idea, excellent execution... impressive.
(maybe... the background is a little bit poor, probably because the character is almost perfect [a lot of contrast between an excellent character and a medium background] )

This is a fantastic character, and the photoshop work is just brilliant, well done on making it to the front page.
The feathers do not belong on this picture (reminds me too much of the evil Jar Jar Bink). If you have them on a separate layer, turf that whole layer and we can pretend this whole thing never happened. :-)
Again though, I gotta say, this is excellent work. :)

Excellent work,
I don't agree with others about seeing a standed version to see legs, foots etc. This shot is enough to imagine rest of him.
I think he will be great war chief in project.
I wish to see his sketches.
Congratulations :applause:

El Toro, www.wacom.com , Wacom is a company name that makes Tablets (some thing like you see at check out when you sign your name when you use a card at store)
Thomas, over all I like it, maybe a hint of cloth texture would help, everything looks so smooth.

Sorry I didn't answer the Wacom question earlier, El Toro. Yeah it's the tablet NileshXYZ mentioned.

Sorry I didn't answer the Wacom question earlier, El Toro. Yeah it's the tablet NileshXYZ mentioned. No problem, I downloaded the demo of Kohan today, pretty nice game, but not really my style.
tfwoods3, do you know where I could find a PS tutorials with a total project overview, because I want to learn this, but I can't really find a good project overview. Maybe you know one, or somebody else.

I wanted to do some touchup work on them before I posted them here :) I had a deadline so I didn't get to tweak them as much as I wanted to.
Here is that shot bigger, it's also on the inside flap of our box.

Very nice - I like the subtlety of the feathers, and the look on his face is one of complacent violence. Well done indeed...
