View Full Version : 'Keep motion vectors' with multiple passes at different resolutions

Could anyone tell me whether motion vector data generated with the "keep motion vectors" option changes based on the resolution of the rendered image?

For example: I have a very hi-poly complex scene to which I want to add 2d blur with the blur2d application. With blur2d I know you can apply a blur to an image sequenece using the motion vectors from another image sequence. So would it make sense to render out my beauty pass with out any blur, or motion vectors and then render the same scene with no lights or textures at HALF RESOLUTION with motion vectors turned on and then use the vectors from this animation to blur my beauty pass? The reason I am asking about the half resolution is that my animation is rather long and I have a deadline looming and I am trying to find ways to make each of my render passes as fast as possible.

Thanks in advance for any help.
