I wanted to see if I could reproduce a photoreal strawberry that I had originally made using the 3D toolkit. I had spent hours!! making the textures and figured I should be able to make it even better in C4D CE+. It was a learning experience. A basic cylindrical map with a flat map for the top. What I learned is that EI has a better phong renederer with one light, but C4D is ultimately more flexible. Tiny bit of post in PS.

I've made a little composition with the strawberries - just practicing lighting and texturing - been reading all the stuff on faking radiosity. Still quite new to this so be gentil, but I've noticed that people can be very perceptive here.

You should be banned immediately for taking photographs and claiming them to be 3D images.

Just kidding.

Very nice work, very convincing materials and lighting, you definitely had me fooled for a moment.

Good work!

Care to share a bit more in depth how you got these results?

Thanks

Thanks In the City - followed your amazing work for sometime here. I'd love to know how you did those great matt paintings over geometry.
Thanks Mauves - no secrets - took closeups of strawberries and cloned and cut and pasted until I had a good colour map. Bump/displacement was harder work. Light dome using dicloner; one area light with soft shadows. Thanks Carles Piles for the stone maps in the back, Table map care of maxon :)
Had to really up the levels in PS + tried the trick of copying layer. blurring and screening back over.

I know this is not much help but I thought it was cool as I've just discovered how to do it.
