Many have been confused as to the nature of the Blender modeling evironment. Some think it obscure and unfamiliar. Some find it invigorating and streamlined. Here is a very thorough presentation of Blender modeling technique, keyboard shortcuts, and general Blender interface featuring the creation of a common human head. It is rather long, but streams in the Flash video format:

I hope you enjoy and are enlightened by it,

The video is very nice! I'm going to watch it again. I really would like to learn Blender, and i've already got a great insight on it so far, thanks to you! :D

Do you happen to have the .swf on a zip file or something downloadable? So i can download it and watch it without the net.

Admiral:

After viewing the files for the first time, the .swf's should reside inside your "temp" folder on you hard drive. Simply look for the one titled "BlenderHeadIntro.swf" and you are in business.

Sincerely,

Greg Smith

Here is the next installment on this Blenderhead session. Ears are added and this "embryonic" mesh is readied for transformation into a wide variety of different character types:

There is also a link between the last session and this one, for those of you who have been collecting them.

I hope you find this useful and entertaining,

Wooohoo! Thanks again Greg. Very nice videos! Can't wait to get to the animating part!

By the way, you mentioned that part 6 is linked there. I don't seem to see it. :/

What I meant to say was that I've added a link from the last of the Blenderhead sessions featuring the character with no ears, (BlenderHead5.html), which joins that tutorial to the next one where ears are added. Here is the link for those who are collecting the series:

Really nice, thanks a lot.

But some real download links would be nice, since Mozilla/Firefox obviously doesn't save the swf file anywhere on the harddrive (at least I can't find them anywhere).

But modeling seems to be a lot easier on Wings3d ;)

Edit: never mind... you can download them from the main page:
