View Full Version : Selections Question
bullet21 09-19-2004, 10:47 PM Is it possible to select another vert or poly without having to deselct my current selection and having the current selection deselect automatically. EG: i select one poly or vert on its own, then i've done what ever i wanted to do to it and now i want to select the another one on its own. My question is, do i have to deselect the current one before i select the other one, or is there a way, like in Max to have it so that when i select the other one the current poly automatically gets deselected.

No. But are you aware that you can deselect simply by leftclicking on almost any non-active/blank area (ie an area that is not a button and not a viewport) AND that tools like Drag, SnapDrag, Magnet etc (and even the Move tool with the right settings) can work on a limited area (like a single point) without the need for an active selection, working simular to a "tweak tool/mode" which other software mention as a special tool/mode.

you can use shift+{ for Contract Selection, so if you only have 1 polygon selected you can hot key it to drop the polygon selection.

And don't forget that when you use the 'translate' (SHFT-T) instead of 'move' (T) you don't have to selecte polygons/points. Could help as well.
