Hi guys, this is my second model, and this one is the first i've actually worked on with real motivation and an idea of what i want it to be at the end.
Crits MUCH appreciated.

I know i could clean it up quite a bit and save lots of polys, but i was planning on completely finishing it and its stand before going ahead and doing that.

Quick question though, does anyone know of a good stand alone renderer?

Looking good so far!

Although, i do have a question. is the monitor supposed to curve verticaly, rather than horizontally? Would be rather tough to see the screen if it was vertical. (From a viewing perspective.)

EDIT: Just noticed your question on a standalone renderer.

For Wings, download Yafray (http://www.coala.uniovi.es/~jandro/noname/) or Toxic (http://toxicengine.sourceforge.net/). Or both. :p

Yafray is a great rendering engine, which Wings can interface with. You just need to install it, and poof! You've got a great renderer. Yafray is interfaced better in Blender, so you may want to check that out.

Toxic has VERY nice Global Illumination capabilities. Although, it doesn't have a vast variaty of other features for texturing, yet.

thanx a LOT for those renderers btw, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH :D :D

Edit1 : Okay, yafray is a b**** to get to work, and toxic... well... im really not good with doing stuff through the command prompt. I may have to dig out my 3ds Max 6 CD and use that.

Hmmm...What kind of problems are you having with yafray? I'll be glad to help out. :)

And, you don't need the command line for Toxic, you can use it within Wings. Just install it, then go to Edit > Plugin preferences > Toxic and locate the toxic.exe. And poof! Now you can click file > Render > Toxic (Click the box to change the toxic settings.)

Excelent work!

Mr. Admiral Ra, i would like to ask you if YafRay works faster under Blender than under Wings.
Because i use it directly from Wings and i feel it hardly slow... Another question: how much faster YafRay can be if operated directly from command line?
thanks and excuse me the off topic!

Well, Yafray renders at the same speed as Blender. (Doubt it will change since it's the same rendering engine.) It's just that, Blender allows you to activate light domes and whatnot for Yafray, giving great GI.

About the command line question, I haven't honestly used Yafray from the command line before. But, i reckon it's the same speed as always. Like i said before, it's the same rendering engine.

I might be incredibly slow but I thought toxic did not require any other install than copying the folder on the hard drive and obviously when I go to edit > Plugin pref > I do not see any toxic item, therefore no toxic renderer...
I can not figure how to install toxic as a plugin of wings 3d.
Thanks for any suggestion,

MF

Hmmm...That's wierd. What version of Wings are you using? Toxic was implemented after...Err...I forgot. About 6 or so versions back i think.

Try reinstalling if you have a newer version.

yes, I was using the last stable version... in the latest release it's built in.
thanks,
