Hi,

I would like to make some high-detailed, high-res renders of a gecko, that I would model very detailed. But I have no idea how to make a nice shader for it's skin. It should be very sharp and look somehow like this:

Although I could change colors....

Any Ideas?

Thanks a lot!

btw: How to resize quoted pictures? :D

In order to have a 2d texture correspond to a 3d surface, the 3d surface needs to be uv mapped. UV simply is a 2d co-ordinate space, like XYZ, upon which the 3d surface is layed. UV mapping is how you determine how the 3d surface corresponds to the 2d map. Hit F1 and look at the help docs for an explanation.

A shader using displacement near to geckos scales... Scales, I remember I asked for that on this board, you should seek for the message. Look on highend3d.com too.
