View Full Version : displacement problems in mental ray

Hi,here's what I want to do:
I want to create an eye that will be squashed and stretched along with my character,but I want the iris to remain round,not deformed.
So I projected a circular ramp as displacement map to create the shape of the iris.
In maya render there's no problem,but in mental ray....
I got horrible edges,bad shapes!! i'm using the aproximation editor right,because if I render the displacement without projection,everything is perfect. But when I project, everything is wrong.
So here's my question: Do you people know about problems projecting displacement in mental ray? any workaround? a way to do it only with mental ray nodes?
