These are concepts for an expressionistic short movie. Although they are composites I'd like to hear some critiques on the overall mood and 2d work... It's a student project, and primarily meant for practising bluescreen and compositing techniques.
The story is about a man who confronts his own emotions.
Thanks!

I'd like to hear some opinions on these. Especially the last one I made, about which I'm not completely satisfied.

Hey, wonderful, it's great that someone has an eye for artistic and innovative art. Have you painted the backgrounds yourself? They are really expressive and fit in very well. They are like from someone's dream (the man's own dream maybe?).
Could you tell more about the techniques you've been using? Are the backgrounds hand-painted or made in some painting program? How did you do the shadow on the car (it distorts like there really was something)?
I don't know much about bluescreening or compositing, but they look convincing at least to me :)
It would be great to see some video material if you have any. :D

At last a reply! Tnx jtuulos!
I made the backgrounds using conte chalk. I scanned them and edited them in PS. Compositing done in AEF. The style I had in mind is inspired by old expressionistic movies like Das Kabinett des Dr. Caligari.
The bend in the shadow on the car was caused by using the 'corner' in the bluescreen. I exerimented with different lighting, this shadow could be kept pretty well in after effects.
I'll post video material as soon as it's finished :)

Although it appears that not many of you are interested (more than 200 views and only two replies is a rather disappointing result... ) Here's another scene I made today.
If it really is bad, please give critiques...

Well I am interested just waiting eagerly on the actual movie to see it in motion before placing detailed comments. I like this style and think you are doing excellent work, especially your second and last example delivers a great mood. Looking forward to it.

I'm still interested :D, keep up the good work!
What's the black thing in the fifth picture in front of his mouth? Is it smoke or some other special effects?
Hard to say more before the actual movie with motion and all.
PS. Can't you post only a small videoclip before the whole movie so we can comment the compositing etc. better? :)
