I'm looking for a great tutorial on enveloping, the best one I can get my hands on! Any recommendations?

Yeah, I've looked at all of those, so I guess it's just a matter of me bettering my own talents, huh?

I think the ones at 3dtutorial.com are very good. I don't think there's a lot more informative right now to be found on the web.
So if that's already your level, you're on your own ;)

cheers,

if your willing to spend a little bit of cash, i would highly recommend XSI Illuminated: Character by Mesmer. It's $14 and is the most comprehensive guide to character animation i have ever seen. The rigging and enveloping sections in that are really thorough and they explain the theory behind it all very well. It also covers things like complex rigs, human character modelling, shape modelling, facial expressions and a lot else.

Yes this may sound like a bit of a sales pitch but i bought it and found that enveloping became a whole let mysterious after reading it.

go to www.mesmer.com (http://www.mesmer.com) for more info.

Cheers,
Erebos

Why buy the book when you can download it for free from mesmer? :)

it's not free... i think the "teaher's supplement" can be downloaded for free, but that particular book is definitely $14 odd.

Well the one I downloaded was XSI character 2004 and is 390 pages , I don't think it's a teachers supplement. You can get it at http://www.mesmer.com and check it out yourself.
