I downloaded a DEMO copy of Zbrush yesterday and must say I was "blown away". Getting closer to making my final purchase decision. Zbrush or BodyPAint

As a mac user, I've also been trying the 1.55b demo.
I like what I see in the final results but I'm having real problems with the gui.
I need the v2 demo!
I have a bit of a dilema though. I don't want to splash the cash until I've had a chance to try the new version but if I wait, the price goes up and I've lost out on a good deal.
Bummer!

I did the same. I bought 1.55b and get 2.0 update for free. The gui in 2.0 is way better! You can buy it with your eyes closed :)

good to hear Kris as I have already just bought 1.55b and to be honest it was your work that sort of gave me the last push to do so.... still they really should bring out a demo of 2 as the GUI in 1.55b is a real nightmare.

Good to know that I help you in your decision, my friend. Your work is great and with ZBrush surely we can expect for something really good from you. Yeah. I agree that 2.0 demo need to go out soon. I think much more people will buy it after to test the last version ;)

Z2 is a huge improvement!! The gui IS different from what you are used to I reckon...but in Z2 its a bit more intuitive and you can set it up to suit your style.....there is a thread at ZBC where folks posted their setups....so you can get a peek preview of how z2 gui looks and how different folks set it up for their needs......I can't remember the name of it offhand but perhaps MR. Pilou will read this and find the link for us! :^) More doors open with Z2 and if you liked the demo 1.55b.....you will almost think you died and went to heaven with 2!

Thanks Kris :) .
What would interest me though guys is with Version 2 coming out in a couple of weeks for the Mac is it worthwhile me spending time getting into 1.55b at the moment, just how dissimilar are the two??

The gui is not hugely different. There are new features yeah...but overall workings...like materials, alphas, lights have not changed....a leg up on learning how they work now will save ya some time when the z2 version comes out in two weeks. In otherwords....you will lose nothing by test driving it but that's up to you.

Thanks Frenchy!!

I've only had Z-Brush for a little while now but it's an indispensable part of my workflow now...at least for higher poly organic stuff. :D
