View Full Version : Wingboy Scene WIP
keetmun 09-16-2004, 11:40 AM Hey all. This is a scene from a story called Wingboy(in no way related to Steamboy!) that I hope to do sometime in the future. It's a collossal ageing structure set in a sci-fi world, with the main character Wingboy standing on the platform overlooking the city, preparing for flight. I'm worried that there might not be enough detail at this stage, and at the same time I don't want the platform to look too clustered. All C&C deeply appreciated, thanks!

Edges need beveling. It looks like a frame so far. Will the black area be sky?

Yup, there'll be sky and there'll be a "rustic' looking city as well. This'll take some time, but I'll definitely be done. Thanks for the C&C!

Here's a partially complete Wingboy. He's going to be wearing clothes in the final render, but I thought I'll just do some body modelling practice while I'm at it. He's going to be standing on the platform in the scene, looking out at the rustic city. C&C appreciated!

What kind of clothing will he be wearing? Even if the body is covered with clothes the proportions still need corrections. Pelvis, and legs are short. Feet are small. The curvature of the legs need work. The thighs should have more curve on the sides, and fronts. Inner thigh should have less curvature. The shins should be nearly straight in the front. Ankles should be tapered. The head needs work. Ears need modeling. The face is almost planar. The eyes should have the spacing of 1 eye width apart. The width of the head should be 5 eyes wide. Model the jaw, and back of the head. The neck needs work. It has a way of connecting to the bottom of the skull.

Oh yeah thanks man. That's a lot of work, but that's what i need. I was originally thinking of something extravagant for clothes, but since I'm working on the model it'll probably be something skimpy. Actually I've got about 2 weeks left to work on this model. Lucasfilm's coming to my school to sort of talent scout in 2 weeks, so I'm trying to get this done by that time. Thank you so much...

Alrighty here's yet another render of my character Wingboy. I think I'm done with him at this stage. Got to start on the clothes and the hair now. I added a bit of SSS, but the effects don't seem very apparent. Anybody know much about it? Thanks to marc001 for all his critiques thus far! As always C&C appreciated!
