View Full Version : Newbie Maya camera Question
Andre Silva 08-09-2002, 07:06 PM Hi, All
I just finished modeling the front torso of my character and im starting on the back, the torso is split front/back but i cant figure out how to get a rear view? do i create a new camera? but cant get it to align properly like the front or is there away to rotate the entire front view and use it as a rear view?
If any one has any ideas it would be apreciated, im spending too much time trying to figure that out than modeling, its probably an easy soulution but im fried right now.
thanks

Just select the camera you have looking at the front and under "Rotate Y" change to a negative value.
Although I would recommend just creating a new camera under orthagraphic views though. Since you just may want to see the front again later on.
Look in the top view to locate the camera plane your selecting. If you dont see anything type a to see the whole scene.

if you just want a back view then in your viewport window, go to view>Predefined bookmarks>back they also have right side and left side. I thought i couldn't be changed so just used it until one day the instructor told us, ofcoarse you go "ohhhhhhh....it was right there", anyway hope that helps.

Thats exactley what i was looking for for the rear view (sorry ME3D couldn't get your way to work for me). Don't you just hated it when the answer is so close and right in front of you.
Thanks again heavoell, you the man:beer:

Dre,
Glad you got it worked out. As always.....101 ways to do it in Maya. Thanks for the reminder on the bookmarks (heavoell), I had forgotten those were there.
The mind goes in age, you know...
