Title: Concept: Cityscape
Name: Daniel Kvasznicza, I-netgrafx
Country: Austria
Software: Painter, Photoshop
A concept art I did ... just for fun,
showing a kind of futuristic cityscape.
I started off with some perspective lines in Photoshop and
ended up with a lighting and perspective exercise.
I switched endless times between Photoshop 7 and Painter 8.
Critiques and comments are very welcome!
Thanks for viewing,
Daniel

Wonderful. The color scheme and technique remind me of Luis Royo. Great work.

looks very nice, nothing to crit on really
leaves me wondering whether there would be people or robots or aliens or whatever wandering around.

It leaves me with the desire to see more paintings from this city. The color scheme is my favourite. Very very inspiring piece of art.

I didn't expect that amount of replies! :)
Here's the line drawing, showing a setup of a two-point perspective.
Done in a couple of minutes.
As you see the original is a cropped version of the line drawing.
Somehow the foreground and the view to the left didn't fit to the concept.

The first prelit step in Painter gave me an idea how it could look a like:

I cropped away the stairs, because the perspective looked odd.
Thanks for viewing!

Unmatched Color-range! Very nice...lume-like colors.
I would go for a darker sky though...since you got all this night set up all around..and the sky is blue... But that is my opininion!
I really like the texturing over the blocks!
Very nice image, perspectve and great texturing.. my only critic is about the scale.... well at the botton left of the image, there are some stairs with a handrail that showme one scale to the proyect, them you put some little spots in the floor wich turns to be the human scales... (like 5% of the scale of the stairs and hand rail). If we take the Handrail scale as the general one, there space of the corridor is about 3 meter wide....

The handrail should be a foreground object. In the final image I cut away the stair-thingy part,
because at first I wasn't sure about the scale and the perspective was odd (as you see).
The final image should present a view from a kind of balcony, high above the walkway.
Thanks for your comment Rizo! I watch out in future :p

hey.
thats really one nice painting. i only got a little critique. the 2 vanishing points seem to be to close together. anyway... i really like the color palette , the lighting and the textures.

You've got a pretty interesting CityScape scene here, nice use of two-point perspective by the way. A bit too blueish though, maybe some different colors would've helped it some. I won't touch the perspective as I'm sure other folks have done that to death, but it just looks too blue to me.

Really beautiful image. I like the fact that it seems like a security camera perspective. As if something bad is about to happen. You could use this in an animation. Good background.

Cool! I'm gonna get it on my hand after you told me that. I wanna try digital painting. I haven't done any traditional paintings for a long long time, so I would like to see how my skills on digital paintings.
Thank you for the info.
BTW, is Windows XP tablet version installed on Wacom?
