why is the quadro 4 xgl 980 still 900$!!!

the FX1100 is the same price... give or take a few dollars depending on location of purchase?!

anyone want to spell it out for me? i dont understand what's soo good about the xgl 980 its somewhere around a year + old

search google for bench marks on the two cards

its about raw power v newer architecture

i think its basically

a geforce 4 ti v a fx card

Thatīs pretty high. A 980 XGL costs around 570 Euroīs here in germany, so if that is the cheapest price for you I would think about getting one from the US because I donīt think that it would exceed that price with taxes and stuff. Quadro FX 700 is a nice part too, have a look at it. I think that the 1100 is not worth the price, should be more in the 600 range now, so if I were in your position I would try to grab the FX 700.

Umm... I bought my 980XGL over a year ago and didn't pay anywhere near $900...

It's currently $497 @ Monarch

sorry i am thinking about Canadian dollars. and yes here its 900 cheapest i seen it is somewhere around 840 CAD.
