View Full Version : Lightwave 7.5d query.....Does it work well anyone???
annaleah 09-14-2004, 03:37 AM Just wondering people...
Does 7.5d install ok and is it stable?
I havent upgraded to 8.0 and probrably wont until some promises are fulfilled about it so still waiting here before I dish out the dough....
But if anyone still has 7.5 and has upgraded from 7.5c to 7.5d and can share their experience with doing it I would be most thankful.
I guess I could install it but 7.5b was a nightmare and I would like to save myself the trouble being that 7.5c is stable right now.
Thanks for any help with this.:D

I'm running 7.5d on Mac OS 10.3.5 without trouble. The only thing that I've noticed a problem with is the Dof preview (shift F9) doesn't work. :hmm:

Ok...thanks JaKaL.
I guess there arent many PC users still running 7.5.
I guess I will check it out but was hoping to get some input on 7.5d.
Thanks again.

Try loading a scene with an object using morph-mixer from 7.5c into 7.5d. Crashes on my machine (Athlon 64 3400+, 1Gb RAM, WinXP)
Edit: Ok so it seems to work in simple scenes.

I haven't come across anything yet. My motion blur-dof works(shift f9) fine for me.

I just upgraded from 7.5c to 7.5d on Windows. It crashes less often. But it's still not 100% stable. (e.g. Lightwave will crash when it tries to make an OpenGL texture from a 4K or larger image, though this happened in 7.5c too)
I would definitely get 7.5d if you are currently using 7.5c.
