I dont mean to prolongue, or annoy anyone with the subject of 3ds Max vs Maya.
But I have started about 2months ago [on and off] going through VTM's from 3dbuzz for Maya, but they don't go into a whole heck of alot in detail about Human Modelling, or even modelling in general from what I've seen so far [I havent downloaded the new "polygonal modelling vtm's, which i assume will teach me how to model in polygons]. And to make matters worse, I've talked to some modellers for mods like Frag Ops on ut2004, and some others, and they all use 3ds max, I just wanted to know If I should stick with maya, or go into 3ds max. I'm also wondering if anyone could also give me some VTM's for Maya modelling, or good tutorials that have helped them learn how to 3d design with maya.

P.S. I know this should probably be in a more general discussion forum, so if a moderator sees this, you can close//delete//move at will.

dude, theres a tutorials sticky at the top of this forum, also you might wanna chackout www.digital-tutors.com for some free maya video training. As for sticking with MAX, why would you bother, like fair enough it used to be the big one in games but imo maya and xsi crap all over it(not that I know anything about making games:D) I used max for about 3 years and I'm using maya now, It was kind of a pain installing the 1200 plugins you need to make it functional, not to mention whats it will cost you, and who want to model with a piece of software that crashes regularly, and then wont open the file it attempted to save for you...Grrr

My 2 cents, try out the free versions of maya and xsi and see what you think

Just my two cents, but should we get rid of the Tutorials sticky? Many of the links are broken...
