I'm trying to animate a graphic 'vector style' flame. For reference the flame is similar to the 'Hot Wheels' logo or the flames you'd say painted on a drag racer auto. Similar to these: http://www.teleadhesivo.com/default.asp?navegacion=categorias&vista=detalle&categoria=2&pagina=1&texto=&producto=607 (http://www.teleadhesivo.com/default.asp?navegacion=categorias&vista=detalle&categoria=2&pagina=1&texto=&producto=607)
The original art is an illustrator path. There are two possibilities for animating this. One approach would have the curvey flames or tendrils grow out from the base (similar to a vine growing animation). The other would animate the end points of the tendrils in a wavelike manner. I'm doing the second approach with a ripple modifier.
Can anyone offer a solution for the first approach, or an improvement on the second would be nice too. Thanks!
