I am doing this tutorial (http://www.highend3d.com/maya/tutorials/patch/) and am stuck on the lattices parts. How do I put a lattice around the curves? I have just been moving the cvs around individually but now when I tried to make the lips they look like crap.

Select the CVs and choose Create Lattice from the Deform menu.

I looked around and didn't see a deform menu.

It's in the Animation section. Hit F2.

I got a lattice question too.
Ok I just deformed my eyeball all nicely into an eye socket.
Instead of duplicating the whole heiarchy, can i just duplicate the latice and then apply my other eye to the duplicated lattice and position the lattice over it??
Ive tried and couldn't figure it out myself =(

Thanks in advance

Yes. A lattice is actually made from two parts: the lattice itself and it's base object. The base object is just an original copy of the lattice. A lattice works by deforming an object based on the difference between the lattice and it's base. So, you can do such things as resize, rotate and position the lattice without effecting the deformation object simply by grabbing the lattice and it's base and transforming them together.

This is also how you would go about copying a lattice. Dupe the lattice and the base and move them togther. Then use the ConnectLattice script to connect the lattice to a new object.
