A landscape I made with Bryce a while back. I thought I'd post it here and hope for some critique. I like it, but I don't love it. What can I improve?

FYI: 48 terrain objects (some 7.4 million polygons), two procedural textures, a Bryce sky and that's it. Extensive postwork though (tone & color balance, contrast, sharpness, soft filter, sun beams).

Looks like a photo background with a bumped plane and a sand texture in front. It just doesnt work for me.

color of dunes in the background doesn't match the foreground. too much contrast? Sun beams have really sharp edges. maybe turn edge falloff up. from the color of the sky, it looks as if it were close to night... should the sun be so bright to cast such bright beams? The terrain on the mountain in the back looks good.

The general mood of the image is good, but the texturing seems a bit off. The noise pattern on the mountain is too sharp, and the light brown part of the mountain is a little too clean, especially compared to the desert dunes in the front.
