hey...
im working with maya 6.. mantal ray..
and since i moved from 4.5 to 6 render time has slowed down...really badly...
ther is any plug in or MEL or any thing to speed up the render time...
??

thx...

and...one more thing pliz...
in the new mental ray...i cant achive th smooth nice and clean shadows of FG rendering...
why is that?
any option to "turn on"???

Well, either you don't have MR optimized correctly, or something is horribly wrong with your installation. Search this forum for another thread on slow MR renders (edit, can't find it. Are your render times like exponentially slower, or just a bit?).

As for FG, with MR there is no such thing as a make better button. Few options that you turn on/ off for FG, GI, etc. are going to make a dramatic difference. It is more a matter of having your settings set correctly and optimized.
