I am feeling kind of dumb on this. it is driveling me MAD I tell you MAD!!!!:annoyed: when I move a group, the objects in the group are moving at different speeds. I have tried moving the pivot points to the same spot. parenting at all sorts of different levels within the group. and yes i have deletd the history also. I have a group with nurbs and brush strokes in it and it keeps falling apart when I try to move it!!! help!!!!

What you're experienceing is called "double transform", where some of your objects are being transformed, or moved, at twice the rate of the other objects because of the parenting relationships you have set up.

Depending on how you have your geometry set up, you can use one of a variety of methods. Here are a couple of them:

1) the simplest is to take all of the objects you want to move and group them under one "master" transform node. That way, the master node can move all around wherever it wants and the others will follow without actually changing their own transforms.

2) Under your child objects attributes, you'll see a checkbox called "inherit transform". That means that your child object, in addition to it's own transformations, will also react to and duplicate the transformations of it's parent object. Sometimes, if you only want a relationship between parent and child objects without the parent actually influencing the behavior of the child, unchecking "inherit transform" is the best option.

That's all I have time for now. Give those a try and post back if it doesn't work out.

hmm.. the master transform node wont help here i guess..

you get this because you have a history on your objects.. so imagne you move the spline that made your object as well as the object itself.. so the spline gets a translation and the resulting object the same -> double translation.

i would suggest:

- putting all objects in the group that matter (leaving construction history objects in another group)
- deleting history if possible.. that one definitely solves the problem but may not work in all cases..
- playing with the inherit transform values like ACFred suggested.
