Title: Splished Off Dolphins!
Name: David Lewis
Country: United Kingdom
Software: LightWave3D

Here are 2 seriusly Splished Off Dolphins.

I used Lightwave 3D[8] to put this image together. The dolphins are characters rather than photo real representations of Dolphins.

I learn't some new techniques for fakeing caustics and applying volumetric lighting for an underwater effect.

I always go for a Hyper Real effect, in order to give the render charcter rather than realism.

dolphines actually have a very unique skin surface to them, on top of that, why is one highly specular? its underwater not above. A dolphines skin is allmost like a soft silky leather to it.

Great models ;)

Agree with above. You should reduce the bottom light.

Great ambient and caustics effect!!

Actually, the models are very good and so is the vol lights.
But they appear to be made of china clay and floating in space.
Plus the tail bend is not that smooth.
Nice work nevertheless.

Hi Everyone,

I love the new Gallery:)

@ Steampunk:

Thankyou, yep, it has fog:)

@ OptimusDinkus:

Thanx, they both have the same settings, just that one is near the surface and light is effecting it different. I not going for realism, just character:)

@ Guillermon:

Thankyou:)

@ Markski:

Thanx, oh cool, do U have a pic?

@ Psan:

Thankyou. Modeling is my main priority at the moment, then lighting, then texturing. I practice modeling every day, also learning about light, then I'll go onto texturing:)

Thankyou everyone. This is the biggest responce that I have had on this forum:D

Best Wishes
