Finally finished. Just a few more fixes on this other thing and I promise to be back in here getting things moving again.

Thats pretty classy Wegg!

Just a question. Why didn't you do the whole thing in A:M? With the new hair I'm sure it would be possibe to do something similar? Breaking it up between all those apps sounds like it was a lot of work.

Nice work Wegg!

I was going to ask the same question as Shaun did.... I feel you could have easily pulled tht off in A:M.... perhaps a little rusty with A:M are we?;)

But really nice clean looking work!

I probably could have but I wouldn't have been able to get the same look. That image/animation is being lit by one light. The rest of the "fill" is all radiocity bouncing around from the environment, ground etc. I just love that look and I love the fact that in Studio it renders so damn fast.

Oh man! I knew it! Leave it to Wegg to be snatching up 3d jobs in my local market! heheh, it's all good tho.. some of the other TV spots in Tucson are Horrendous! Congrats on getting a gig from AZ. Too bad you couldn't get the bigger production idea bout the highway cactus', but AZ companies seem to be cheap bastards when it comes to advertising. I'll talk to you later online.....

Is that radiocity or global illumintation?

Hmmm.... Global illumination.

It's like the enlightenment for the digital age...

I liked Weggs cactus so much, I thought I'd try my own. I used Emilio's Sweeper pluging to copy and place the spikes. See if you can pick the one I did. http://www3.telus.net/imagestreamstudio/temp/cactus_comp.jpg

Hey Graham, that is pretty good. Try whacking an edge gradient to make it lighter and paler as it faces away from the camera, then add translicency to the spikes and use a few wide raytraced lights including some backlight and you will be nearly there.

It woul be interesting to see how closely you can match the lighting - including some simulated secondary lighting, and then compare render times. (that old chest nut).

Wow, nice job to Wegg and also to Graham's quickie cactus. I wonder how your cactus would look with Wegg's Darktree?

And realllly nice job to Emilio for his Sweeper plugin!

We had plenty of time to do it. But not much budget. So it was one of those things that happened in our spare time.
