Not sure what's happening here or what to do:
My system has been stable/trouble free for quite some time, until yesterday:
On Startup, after the Win2k splash screen, I get that black and white system check screen with the following message/result:
Checking file system on F:
The type of the file system is NTFS
Volume lable is New Volume
On of your disks needs to be checked for consistency. You may cancel the... ...Windows will now check the disk.
CHKDSK is verifying files (stage 1 of 3)...
File verification completed.
CHKDSK is verifying indexes (stage 2 of 3)...
Index verification completed.
CHKDSK is verifying the security descriptor (stage 3 of 3)...
Security descriptor verification completed.
At this point, the horizontal blue line (with light blue gradient) continues to animate, but nothing else happens. No keyboard response either.
If I force a restart and bypass this system "recommended" file system check, Win2K appears to start normally, and everything appears normal.
Any suggestions/advice?
thanks
-Elliot
