Hi all,
Not really a Maya question, but the general programming forum can be a bit quiet! Besides, I know how wise you guys (and gals?) are! :wise:
I was wondering if anyone knows of any free / cheap Phython Syntax highlighting / colouring plug-ins for MS Visual Studio 6.0? I know ActiveState do a 'Visual Python' plug-in, but that appears to be for .NET only.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :)
Cheers,

I don't know of anything for VS, but the free text editor
Context
http://www.context.cx/

has a built in python highlighter. I have a Mel highlighter for it too, if you'd like.

I'd reccomend trying to download version 0.97.3 if you can, because the new one, .5 has
some weirdness where if you enter down from a line that's tabbed in a ways, and hit backspace, it erases all tabs instead of one.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your reply. It's looking likely that I'll be using Linux for my Python from now on, anyway - plenty of free editors for Linux with Python syntax highlighting! :)

The editor you suggest does sound like it'd be useful for my MEL, though - would you mind emailing me [either attachment or as a link] your MEL syntax highlighting plug-in? That's be great! My address is paulwconnor@hotmail.com

Thanks alot.
