more glow to the light sabre i can see the cylinder end !!!! as far as i know the light sabres end a little round and ... erm "spitz" ,)
modelling looks good to me but it's way to clean !!! and try to use a nice texture for the ground ... no procedural one ! u posted a nice picture of the real one !!! make yours as dirty as this one !!!

I would suggest that u remove that texture and put a plain ground instead. The model is very nice and true to the real one. The blade howeveris wrongly glowed some on the intensity of the white. Increase it in the gradient. I'd like to point out that master Windu has a purple blade and not blue. Otherwise a very nice model!:)

actually mace has used 3 sabers, i just chose to do this one beacuse it would be simplest for me,
and thanks for the suggestions guys, i dont really know how to texture, i kinda just detach items and give them color, and i was amazed that the metal even looked like metal, i should focus on that,,
and ya your right, i should drop that floor texture,

Now thats a beauty!!! U really got it nicely this time. The only problem Iv'e got with it is that the blade(white part of it) is a bit too thin. But thats a matter of taste...I don't know if the color of the glow should spread that mush either...but thats just an effect easy to break. Try rendering the one with the blade without a plane behind with pitch black background. That way ull get the most of the sabereffest. The model however...well...let the smiley speak 4 itself!

Looks cool:thumbsup:,
But i have 3 crits.
1 - I dont think the blade would cast a shadow, its glowing, it would color the ground and the saber (radiosity).
2 - The model looks almost exact to the actual, but i would reccomend you chamfer the edges, because nothing in this world has perfectly sharp edges. believe me, if you're gonna do close renders, chamfered edges will really add realism to it.
3 - as many people are saying , work on the texture. oh, and BTW what texturing method are you using? Are u using a map, or are you assigning different materials to different faces?

your right about the blade, i used a cylindarfor it then used PS to add teh glow, i should loose it,
your right about chamfering the edges, i just have onyl been fiddling with max for 2 months and no idea how to do it hehe, ill see what i can do,
and as for the textures i dont know what the method is, i select the faces the assign a texture to them, then select other and so on, just remember to have the selected faces saved in the list thing, i reallly am a mega noob at texture,
