View Full Version : Two Loops (walk and a run)

I needed a break from class assignments and did some cycles as practice.
One is a characterized walk for an angry alien char I've been developing, the other is a run I slapped together.

Have a look and feel free to explicitly explain why they are not fluid, realistic, or believable.

RIP THEM APART!!! ARRGGGG!!!

Note: The cloth in the angry walk cannot loop.

On the run....
Create a more relaxed hand/finger pose. It looks stiff. It may be the rig, but something is off in the shoulders. The feet arn't bad, but I feel like it's moving a little slow.You may want to try compressing the loop from 30 frames to 22-25 just to see what happens. Far apart are the feet? Granted, the angle doesn't help this, but it looks like they may be too far apart.

On the walk....
I couldn't get it to load. What type of avi is it?

the feet seem to start to move back before they hit on the run cycle. also, it does seem a little slow, like he's floating.

walk - couldn't load either (IV41 - Indeo codec?) try the same divx as the run cycle.

For the run...I cant see any spine movement at all. The shoulders seem to not be moving as well. And yeah giving the fingers a more natural pose helps a lot. Its always good to have them bent a little with an arc, if that makes any sense...I usually have the pinky finger the most bent and the index finger least bent. And animating the wrist will also add fluidity to the whole thing.
