Thanks OZ. Love your concepts, especially the first two.

Here's a component of some kind...

Hi there

Nice modelling so far.

Your name made me wonder if you are the fantastic Uri Geller. If so have modelled this using only mindpower ?:beer:

dodo3d: The red is just a strap. Right now, I don't know what it will be wrapped around though.

otacon: Thanks :)

Rok: Despite the similarities in our names, I lack Gellers awesome powers. Though, I have the ability to bend spoons with my bare hands and sometimes I can even read my own mind.

:p

I'll go with this one instead..

looks cool so far, the concept looks promising

about the propeller though, did you get some reference pics ? it looks wrong to me, like it wouldn't work - i'm not a specialist on the field though, so don't smack me if i'm wrong :wip:

It's working :) Thanks for posting anyhow!

ah, thanks victor and thanks fist. You're absolutely right (I'm slooow at times) I've done some remodelling with the propeller.. and after looking through some airplane reference pics I decided where the component I did earlier would go..

It feels like I'm posting the same pic over and over, next update I WILL have made some progress.
Anyway, here's the nose.

reposting..
As I was saying, I will add details later on. Gotta work on the tail for now.

I love the 'ultra-compact' look you're giving to the nose of that airplane! I want to see more! Keep working at it, it rocks:buttrock:

Thanks Baal :)

here's a little update

Man, that's awesome! It has a sort of mad-Russian-scientist look to it, just the way it looks thrown together. Let's see some more updates :beer:

man, i loved your concept and modeling... :love:
that's really awesome :applause: :applause:

thanks guys!

I didn't initially plan on modeling a pilot. But I changed my mind and I've put the airplane aside for a short while. The pilot won't be a mad scientist however. :)
here's what's been done so far.. I know the hair needs a lot of work. Or perhaps I'll cover it under a helmet..

Looks asian to me. Not one of those kamikaze pilots I hope :thumbsup:

URI::G

Haven't updated in a while so here's the latest.

Nah, she's no kamikaze pilot... but you're right, she's asian. :)

no hair yet though........

I haven't made any changes to the plane yet. It's still very blocky. I just wanted to see how the pilot/mechanic would look in the scene. Any comments/crits so far?

rok

Ecxellent. Nice addition of the character. Me like.

Maybe the pilotīs a little "heavy" at the crotch (thatīs only on males aint it ? - donīt know the english word for that region, not anyone I would use here anyway). Sheīs come quite some way since the initial renderings.

You mentioned that you had left the plane blocky for the time being. I actually like the look of it - well maybe it needs some bumps/scratches etc. I suggest you look at Mikael Pīs thread, heīs modelled some cool bumps in his balloon.

Are you gonna texture it ? or leave it clay ?

Awesome, nice, sweet and all that. :beer:

URI::G

hmm.. maybe you're right about the plane. I'll add some scratches to it anyway, and some more details (bolts, straps and whatever) but I'll leave it blocky.

And I'll fix that crotch. Poor girl. :)

Almost forgot, for the moment I have no plans in texturing, I will devote all my time to the modelling... But I kinda like it this way anyhow.

Thanks for the help!

Awesome! This ship looks NICE.:thumbsup: I think it looks fine with no textures.;)

great man, i like the lighting too

how about modeling a lil' airstrip with some floodlights in the ground, to justify the light from below

that would make a cool scene and fit the mood i think

Thanks guys!

Great suggestions there fist. I'll look into it. For now the lightsource is the yellow rectangular shape under the vehicle.

URI::G

It's.. dark. hope you can spot the small changes I've made. I tried making an airstrip but it didn't turn out very well.. maybe I'll go for another try later.

hey thanks,

road: yes a hangar would be nice, I've thought about it too. We'll see.. Thanks!

tuba3d: thanks alot. I'm glad you liked it. I'll send more updates in the weekend.

That image is just so rich :airguitar

Subtle details in the texture, ecxellent lighting and superb modelling make this a winner in my book - no doubt. So simple and yet so stylish.

Itīs so compact and tight it makes me itch of happiness....and some updates too.

Have been fun to follow this thread from the beginning - seeing the progress up till now.

I agree that it would be nice to see a hangar or just the back-end wall. But really thereīs no need for it. I think this image rocks as is

hey, what happened to those updates..

I couldn't resist playing around with the scene so eventually I ended up with this.
But be calm, this won't be the final composition since the focus is too much on the character and her expression is all wrong anyway.

Rok: Thanks for your support and for keeping me motivated. This contest has been real fun.

hahaha... Good sense of humor....

The machine is eating the pilot? Good... You should think in using some kind of humor in your final scene... i like it...

Good job.
:thumbsup:

URI::G
09-04-2002, 03:48 AM
bad lighting I would say. Nope she isn't being eaten by the plane(funny idea though) but those shadows on her face makes it look like she's screaming :scream: , kinda. Trust me I don't have a good sense of humour :)

I did some texturing for the pilot, not near finished though. Maybe I'll continue working on it someday.

OK, I'm done. This will be my final image. Didn't change much at all. Hope it's not too dull though.
Thanks for the support everyone, it's been great.
