* They can be done on any medium.
* If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
* Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing.
* The topics will be posted every day between 10:00 - 12:00 am US EST.
* The artist also has to post total length of time it took (Thanks Clanger for the idea) and program used.
* Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
* Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
* The topics will be picked at random from the list on this thread
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
*You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them). NEW RULE!
* Ill post ANOTHER thread to quantify and track WHO has participated the most on these threads.

Good luck

This is my very first post, up till now I've been a CGTalk lurker - please go easy on me. Very cartoony, I'm just starting to learn my Wacom and painting. 20 min. sketch, scanned and 1.25 hrs in Photoshop.

Here's mine. PS7/Wacom. It's not even close to being finished, but... after sitting down working on it for a little over an hour, I think it's done for now. Maybe I'll finish it later. Most of the time was spent trying to figure out a good scene setup.

I'm horrible wth perspective.. especially on figures. Anyone know any good tutorials?

Love those waves, pooby!

Here is another entry for today by me.

It's....um..disturbing. I was gonna add more to the left part of the screen like a scared funny person or something but the pic was disturbing me too much so I had to stop.

I guess I went the way to Resident Evil. I remember in the first movie the umbrella corp. was experimenting with some creatures or something ( that scene where there was all of those strange creatures in those containment units)

Also I used an old toy I had of Violator from spawn cause I wanted to put a light on it so I could use that as a guide. So I won't go and claim that the creature is something of my own design or anything but it was drawn from life so that's gotta count.

So I guess this is what happens when you mess with Evolution. GAME OVER.
:P

Approx. 40 min. of painting in Photoshop. I know it's a bit dark.. :P it's the new version of devil... and no one want to c him outside... so he's trapped in a deep, dark prision for his lifetime. :P

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/dm7755/EVOLUTION.jpg

Edited: Argh! That stupid montior!!! the green is supposed to be black! Skin is supposed to be red/orange not just orange! *wonders if this monitor is totally wrong or her LCD monitor is totally wrong... mm*

...just added 15minutes to it...it feels a little better, but I actually liked the sloppiness, so I kept it all.

Congratulations, Anubis! Yeah, it has a Rydeen air about it! But it's very unique! You've got a unique style! Speed becomes irrelevant!

In my case, I'm somewhat impatient but also just enjoy to see things happen infront of me. So when I work completely free without a topic it can be obviously a lot faster, but if I sketch out a motive (outlining) and then fill it out it feels like forever for me...this time I really had a reason to hurry, but usually...hmm...why hurry...hmmm....gotta ease up a bit.

Anyway, thank You!

Eh...just a quick shout out:

Pooby: DAMN! I really like it a lot....funny and even both sad and disgusting at the same time! Beautiful rendering and a great sense of quick intuition...I really like that stuff!

Rasdasa: can I just say nothing and after you've posted something you can simply go like this: "Eh...Taron's gonna love it anyway"....would save me the urge to write!

Just went back and looked at that stuff and couldn't resist!

Here's my one; I know my skills are quite bad, but I had to do something different from whole days 3D'ing ;)

- Photoshop 7.0
- Optical mouse
- 1 hour
- Should look like a cow that produces Coca Cola :)

Hope you'll like it...!

Today I'm trying to change my style, its my first time drawing with a tablet, first time using painter, first time tryng to paint clouds...

it took about 40min, maybe i could've improved it a little bit more, but i'm a bit lazy today...

[edit: pic removed to keep bandwith low]

(NOTE: it's supposed to be the lion king's rock with a penguin standing on it)

Pooby, yours is funny, and very well done
Taron, i have no idea what "cheesy" means, but that one is a cheesy idea for sure!... i hope that's not our future...
Meta_nerd, i just dont understand what your "alien" is doing... is maybe that black curving thing a DNA molecule?

meta_Nerd

elmasfeo - It's supposed to be a new form of the darwin sign. There really isn't anything deep meaning here like Taron's nice-ities. It was more of a personal test to learn OpenCanvas.

Taron - I reeeeaaaaaaaaaallly like those. Don't know what else to say.

Dutchman - Love your Idea...really funny.

Anubis-Halil - Very Mark Rydenish....(that's a compliment). & I think you handled the grass very, very nice.

Hey guys it's my first post here. This is kinda inspirational, just hinting to the fact that mankind should stop sitting on their butts and do something in life. Any suggestions on how to improve on human figures?

try making the legs longer and arms shorter. picture refrences or looking in the mirror for basic porportions helps me. oh and can you post a little smaller images, scrolling to see the whole thing subtracts from your piece imho.
