OK, I'm gonna start numbering them now ;-) Sorry about the lack of human stuff, once we have our human character ready I will post some stuff on that, but for now you'll have to put up with more of our 'messing about' :)

Sorenson 3 320x240@25fps 768Kb

More Mouse recording
More keyframe reduction
Uses morph sliders to change facial expressions
Soft IK to make the antenna wobble.

Its effectively another tail, but we like it.

Modelling and animation by Janine Pauke.

That is really really nice, got a great sense of life and Mischievousness, and the secondary motion is spot on :bounce:

I'm an old old max user and have been looking recently at Cinema for use at home the thing that has stopped me in the past is the lack of character tools but I think 8 should change all that. Any other users thinking of migrating to cinema out there?

I cant wait to see some more examples from you.
keep up the good work.

Very good. I like how the mouse recording looks unique with being jittery. I guess that is where the keyframe reduction comes in.

heehehe...

the "design" is not very creative at all...
i thought that janine learned at least something from me.
..okay..."copying" is at least "something"....

anyway..but the dynamics for the antenna looks good...

hey Andras welcome to CGtalk, nice to see you around here, I know its basically the "Visitor" but really I think she just whipped this together and rigged and animated, I'm not sure if this is for the tutorials and such (Imashination would know) but if it is intended I could recommend that she change the model though You should have her email, besides didn't she design the character? ; )

Now for twenty questions, Will you be around a fair bit? WHat are you working on right now? Who did the Classical animation in the Visitor, who are you working for right now, how much do you weigh and so on and so on.

twenty questions???...i am actually working on to get new projects in or better to leave the country asap... ;)
mhhh...well i have so many ideas spinning around in my head......
but as long as i am not satisfied with my work....everything is okay......

Ahem. When I started modeling that alien I did not have your visitor character in mind at all. I just wanted to have something with an antenna on top for the soft ik. Yes, I ended up with something that looks a bit similar to yours (ok, maybe I was a bit inspired by it, you should take this as a compliment!) but I still think the design is a completely different one. And no, it will not be used for any tutorial. It was just a quick test.

Here's my alien: http://www.3dluvr.com/janine/little-alien_s.jpg
And there's your alien: http://www.carnera3d.de/BubblePage/bubble.htm

There's hardly any similarities there. They are both aliens with an antenna. And since when has an alien with an antenna been an original idea? ;) Do you want to say just because you have done an alien with an antenna (which is not your design actually, it's Jan's) I'm not allowed to model one myself? The eyes are completely different and not even the head shape is the same.

Hi Janine

Really nice, this little alien. The dynamics seem to be very powerful :applause:

but I've not seen any walkcycles (except this one : walkcycle (http://www.the3ddesigner.de/galerie/walkcycle.gif) ) . I think it would be very interesting to see a short animation of your female character, which can be seen on all those mocca-screenshots at maxon.net.

My apologies about the who designed thing, need to watch the film again, and I was thinkin the Jan name in there was Janine, but welll blaaaaaargh.

ANyways, to JAN, I think you will se various animation poppin up soon enough, as some of the other guys are finding time to get some stuff done too, I think Janine and Mash are sorta double focuesd right now onmaking the things they make easier for possible tutorials, and just quick tests. Maybe I'll try a quick character thing of the dog, with a possible walk cycle if Janine would let me. I really do need to start learning all the new rigin stuff and setup some stuff myself, but I'm an animator and modeler so I focus on one thing at a time, and modeling typically comes first :( Not to mention some darn film that I have to classicalyt animate, nice thing is there is no rigging there :D

well scratch that idea the dog has a limited rig so not much more than was already shown.
