View Full Version : Wierd Particle Problem

Im doing a smoke trail for some triple A fire and I know that maya's render does not do motion blur on the particles and thats what I want. I have a Fighter plane in the scene as well and I want motion blur on that. The thing is, when I have motion blur turned on right after the particles die off, a small little chain of more particles appears out of nowhere right behind it and then fades away. This does not happen when motion blur is off. I dont want to have to composite the whole thing, but I may have to. What do you think?

i've had the same problem, the only suggestions are 1) script a pre render MEL script to force it to evalute the particles before hand, 2) use software particles and blur them in comp, 3) use the hardware renderer and blur them in there, then comp.
