hey dude,
i think you can turn the reflectivity attribute slider of object c down to zero.so a and b both reflect each other but c dosent...the only thing now is what if i wanted object b to be reflected in object c ???...hmmm you got me thinking as well...any body ???
b
put obj A and B together in the same render layer. put c in a different render layer.
so u've 2 layers here.
when u do render layers in the final output. u'll get layer 1 with both A and B with reflection of each others. C in layer 2 with no reflection. of course, A wouldn't have reflections of C too. if u want reflections of A+ B in C. u can make a reflection map for it in order to get the reflection that u want.

hey dude,
no !!! there is no function like the one max has :(
in fact there are many other little things we'd take for granted or have gotten used to not there...right from the top of my head would be the bitmap fit option...how do i judge weather the aspect of my map is stretched or not ???
seriously, we really should have a forum where maxers can convert to mayans as seamlessly as possible.

I'm pretty sure from your description this is not what you want, but have you looked at the "visible in reflections" attribute on the object(under render stats)? A combination of this and "primary visibility" should allow you to at least get the look you are after with a two render composite.
