how'd you do the light bulb? I'm working on a piece right now where i need to create light bulbs..and i'm new to maya so i have no idea how.

Hi Chal7ds,

Sorry for a slow response, I hardly ever check this thread any more :)

On the off chance that you're still trying to model a lightbulb I can give you a couple of tips but I use Max as opposed to Maya but I'm sure the basic techniques are fundamentally the same.

The bulb in the image is pretty much the most simple model to create. Firstly you need to make a spline in the shape of half of the cross section. You then use a lathe tool to 'spin' that spline around a central point forming a 3 dimensional shape.

It's a simpler technique in practice than it is to describe in writing so I hope this makes sense.
